Our commitment

At Carmela Coffee, we believe everyone should feel welcome, comfortable, and included — both in our cafés and online. We are committed to making our website accessible to people of all abilities so that everyone can enjoy our crafted moments with ease.

We see accessibility as part of thoughtful hospitality, and we continuously work to improve the digital experience for all visitors.

​What web accessibility means

An accessible website allows people with disabilities to browse, understand, and interact with content with the same level of ease and enjoyment as other users. This includes compatibility with assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other adaptive tools.

Accessibility steps taken on this site

Our website has been developed using Wix's accessibility tools and best practices. Accessibility was assessed through automated tools, including the Wix Accessibility Wizard, as well as manual review of key pages and user flows.

Steps we have taken include:

  • Defined clear and consistent heading structures across pages

  • Set the primary language of the site

  • Added alternative text to informative images; decorative images are marked to be skipped by assistive technologies

  • Ensured sufficient color contrast for readability

  • Structured content in a logical reading order

  • Enabled keyboard navigation across the site

  • Reduced unnecessary motion and animations where possible

We have also added the UserWay Widget as a supplemental tool that allows users to adjust certain display preferences such as font size, contrast, and cursor size based on their personal needs.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following areas where our site does not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we are working to address them:

  • Online ordering (ToastTab): Our online ordering flow redirects users to ToastTab, a third-party platform. The accessibility of those pages and checkout steps is outside our direct control. We declare partial conformance with the standard for these pages and flows.

  • Embedded third-party content: Certain widgets or integrations provided by third parties may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA at this time.

Accessibility in our cafés

Our café locations are designed to meet ADA physical accessibility standards. If you require specific accommodations during your visit, please don't hesitate to ask — our team is always glad to help. You're welcome to contact us in advance if it would make your visit easier.
