Time for cold coffee drinks!

Updated: Jun 24, 2020

Welcome Summer!

It's officially that time of the year when all we can think of is the beach, the bright sun, sand, and most of us have already switched to tasty, refreshing cold drinks.

And speaking of drinks, gone are the days when coffee could only be paired with steamed milk, now we are free to explore all the excellent stuff that a good coffee can be combined with to create replenishing wonders. A refreshing coffee drink? Yes, it is possible, and you'll love it.

Cold coffee is already invigorating on its own, but what makes a coffee a great summer drink? In our opinion, besides being cold, it should have an unforgettable flavor that reminds us of the season and how fun it is.

Today we want to share with you two recipes of cold coffee drinks that will leave you asking for more in this hot weather.

Coffee and citrus are a well-known combination; they both contain a complimentary acidity which can bring sweetness and lightness to your cup. If you haven't tried the Lemonade Iced Coffee, we suggest you try it. It couldn't be easier to make it at home, and no special gear is required.

Just grab a glass, fill it with ice, and combine homemade or even store-bought lemonade (you want a lemonade that is a bit tart and not too sweet) with a shot or two of chilled Carmela Coffee espresso or cold brew concentrate. Now you can relax and sip!

On the other hand, we all have those days that we want a bit more of something, we hear you, we've been there. Carmela Coffee and alcohol can also be a great team. Who would have thought this blend could taste so good?

Iced coffee with Kahlua and Bailey's is the perfect pick me up; it’s smooth and creamy.

You will need:

6 ounces freshly brewed Carmela coffee

2 ounces heavy cream or half and half

2 ounces Bailey's Original Irish Cream

1 ounce Kahlua Coffee Liquor

Whipped cream optional.

Brew coffee and put it aside. Place cream or half and half with Bailey's, Kahlua, and ice in a shaker and swirl gently. Place additional ice in a large glass and pour the mixture. Add the coffee and stir to combine. Top with chilled cream if desired.

This drink is an adult indulgence that will give you a little something special.

Cold coffee drinks might be what you need on a hot summer day; you still get the kick and flavor of coffee but also the cooling relief of an iced cold beverage.

Let us know if you try any of those drinks and remember to share the post.

Enjoy your summer!
